Misplacing your items doesn’t have to be a big deal. Open the Items tab in the Find My app or ask Siri for help to locate nearby objects. With the enhanced speaker system, you can hear the alert from up to twice as far away as previous generations.Precision Finding and Global Network
If your item is nearby, your compatible iPhone or Apple Watch can lead you straight to it. Thanks to expanded Precision Finding range and built-in Ultra Wideband technology, you’ll see the exact distance and direction to head in. If you’ve left something further away, the Find My network leverages hundreds of millions of Apple devices to help track it down while protecting your privacy at every step.
The system sends out a secure Bluetooth® signal detected by nearby devices in the network. These devices send the location to iCloud, allowing you to see it on a map. The process is anonymous, encrypted, and highly efficient to preserve battery life.
Privacy and Security
Privacy is built in. Only you can see where your tracker is, and location data is never stored on the device itself. To discourage unwanted tracking, your phone will alert you if an unknown tracker is travelling with you. Lost Mode makes finding things even easier by sending you an automatic notification when your item is detected in the network.
