Ribcap Size Guide

Important

Getting the right size is important. A well-fitted Ribcap should feel firm but comfortable - not tight. Please measure carefully before ordering. Because Ribcap helmets are worn close to the skin, we are unable to accept returns where an incorrect size was selected.

How to measure your head

You will need a flexible tape measure. If you don't have one, use a piece of string or ribbon, wrap it around your head, then lay it flat against a ruler.

Measurement B — Required

Head circumference

Wrap the tape measure around your head approximately 2.5 cm (1 inch) above your eyebrows and ears. Keep it level all the way around. This is your key measurement for selecting a size.

Measurement A — Optional

Head height

Measure the distance from the centre of your forehead to the top of your head. This optional measurement can help confirm fit for some models.

Tips for an accurate measurement

  • Keep the tape snug but not tight - leave a little room so the helmet sits comfortably.
  • Measure while wearing your usual hairstyle, including ponytails, braids, or thick curls. Do not press your hair flat.
  • If you wear glasses or hearing aids, factor these in when measuring.
  • Measure under normal conditions - not straight after exercise or a hot shower.
  • If your measurement falls at the upper end of a size range, choose the larger size.
  • If you are between two sizes, always choose the larger size.

Some Ribcap models use flexible materials that may ease slightly with wear. Try wearing it for short periods to allow it to conform to your head shape. If your model has adjustable fastenings, loosen them for a better fit. If the helmet remains uncomfortable, please contact us before returning - the helmet must be unworn and in its original condition for a return to be accepted.
The Mini size fits a head circumference of 47-49 cm and is generally suitable for children aged 5 and up. Some younger children with a larger head circumference may suit an adult Small size. Always measure first to confirm.
The Baseball Cap style uses a different size chart to the rest of the range. Always check the correct chart for the model you are ordering. If you already own a Ribcap in one style, measure again before ordering a different style - do not assume the same size will apply.
