Serious performance in a thin and light design. The redesigned iPad Air. Two portable sizes. M2 chip. Landscape front camera. Beautiful new colours.

The incredibly fast M2 chip brings breakout performance to iPad Air. With a powerful CPU, GPU and Neural Engine, it’s nearly 50 per cent faster than the previous generation.

The iPad Air supports Apple Live Speech.

With Live Speech on iPad Air, users can type what they want to say to have it be spoken out loud during phone and FaceTime calls, as well as in-person conversations. Users can also save commonly used phrases to chime in quickly during lively conversation with family, friends and colleagues. Live Speech has been designed to support millions of people globally who are unable to speak or who have lost their speech over time.

For users at risk of losing their ability to speak — such as those with a recent diagnosis of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or other conditions that can progressively impact speaking ability — Personal Voice is a simple and secure way to create a voice that sounds like them.

Users can create a Personal Voice by reading along with a randomised set of text prompts to record 15 minutes of audio on iPhone or iPad. This speech accessibility feature uses on-device machine learning to keep users’ information private and secure, and integrates seamlessly with Live Speech so users can speak with their Personal Voice when connecting with loved ones.

NDIS Eligibility: Consider Your Use Case and the List of Supports

Registered NDIS Provider Logo

This product may require approval from the NDIS depending on your use case. In some cases this might be considered a Replacement Support if used as a communication device.

Note: Assistive Tech is awaiting clarification from the NDIS on the ongoing funding of devices for Capacity Building and Telehealth as detailed in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits following the release of the NDIS List of Supports on 03/10/2024. This eligibility statement will be updated when clarification is received.

Private Purchase

At Assistive Tech we prioritise orders for NDIS Participants but also welcome orders from private customers.

NDIS guidance as of 24 June 2022 indicates that 3G, 4G and 5G mobile capability are excluded from being able to be claimed. This means that participants may still purchase this product, but will need to pay for the cellular component. The cellular upgrade for this product is $250, which means this cost will need to be paid from their own money. This participant contribution can be paid on the same invoice.

In addition, NDIS does not fund SIM cards/mobile data plans. When considering this product, you will need to take into consideration the costs for a mobile data plan (NDIS considers this as an every day living cost - utilities).
