Important Update: Changes to Our Pricing Model

At Assistive Tech, our mission has always been to provide quality assistive technology products and services to support our customers' unique communication needs. As the costs of delivering these services rise, we've faced the challenge of maintaining the affordability of our offerings while also covering the necessary labour costs associated with our setup and provisioning work.
We have absorbed significant losses in this product category over the past twelve months and the costs associated with processing and delivering orders that incorporate Apps have increased significantly following the October 3 changes to the NDIS with increased rework, plan manager follow up and NDIS Approvals processes.
The technology products we sell, such as communication devices and apps, often come with low or non-existent margins (such as apps from the App Store), and we can no longer offset the losses we are incurring from other product categories. In light of this, we are implementing some changes to our pricing model to ensure we can continue to offer the best support possible for our customers. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
We appreciate that price increases are never welcome and these changes are simply focused on recovering costs associated with order processing.
What’s Changing?
We have made a few adjustments to our pricing structure that we’d like to share with you:

Communications Bundles:
The total price of our Communication Bundles will now include a one-off setup fee of $101.42. This fee helps cover the time spent by the Assistive Tech team to set up and provision your device prior to shipping, ensuring it arrives ready to use.

iPads with Apps:
For those purchasing iPads along with apps that are not pre-bundled, you’ll have the option to add a setup and provisioning service for $101.42. This means we’ll configure your device with all the necessary apps and settings before it’s shipped to you. You can find this service available for order in our web store under the services product menu. If you choose not to add this service, your order will still be subject to the App Only Service fee (see below).

App Only Orders (Apps from the App Store):
A new per-order processing fee of $25.00 will be applied to all orders for App Store apps purchased through Assistive Tech. This helps us manage the costs associated with processing and delivering these digital products to you.
Why These Changes?
These adjustments are necessary to help us recover the labour costs involved in providing setup and provisioning services, along with app store digital deliveries. Our goal is to maintain the quality of support and service that our customers rely on, and these fees allow us to continue delivering a personalised and ready-to-use experience.
